RETENTION POND OVERFLOWING. WILKE ROAD BETWEEN KIRCHOFF

I talked to a friend in the area, he says it’s nuts. He’s estimating 7+ inches at his house, which is not too far from where that retention pond is located at. And judging from the radar, he’s probably right.
That’s the GRLevel 3 display of the KLOT Doppler Radar estimate of the rainfall as of 1:50am to the left. I haven’t talked to anyone in Palatine yet, though, so I’m not sure of the situation just down the road.

Boy oh boy have I not seen something this obviously one sided since the last time I turned on Fox News Channel.
The first part of this article seems to be nothing but a bash at Muslims. Yes, 9/11/01 was a great tragedy, and yes we should support our armed forces, but I think we erred in the fact that we never went after those who attacked us, but instead, went to take care of “daddy’s” unfinished business. Afghanistan is where we should be fighting this, and Bin Laden is who should have been on trial. Iraq is BS. Yes Saddam was a bad man, but we had no business going in there.
The rest of this article is full of all sorts of quotes… Hmm… Funny to think that a lot of these may have been taken out of context. “UPRIGHT” just spews a bunch of the mumbo jumbo that all of the Republican spinsters have been spreading. Ask any one of them about any of the issues that are important right now, the economy, gas prices, etc. and they’ll all start spewing this same crap… “Obama is tax and spend,” “The Dems want to run your life,” “You damn liberals shouldn’t investigate Sarah Palin because she’s a woman.” I haven’t heard one bit of straight talk out of the “Straight-talk Express.”
The fact of the matter is that Obama will cut the taxes of many of us and raise them on big-business and the people who can afford to pay more in taxes. The fact is that drilling offshore, or in Alaska’s wildlife reserve, WILL NOT DO ANYTHING for our gas prices in the near-term. The only thing that’ll do anything for our gas prices is ditching oil and switching to a renewable source, like the switch grass that was presented today at the Capitol here in Madison. And what is wrong with using words over violence to quell what is going on over in the Middle East? Honestly, do none of you remember anything from Kindergarten?
“EDITORIAL EXEGESIS” just goes to re-enforce my position above that the only thing that will help us at all is switching to something renewable, be it corn, switch grass, hydrogen or something yet to be discovered. Drilling for more oil will do nothing. By the way, don’t you think it’s interesting how gas prices dropped dramatically just on the fact that Congress, you know the one who is doing nothing, quelled the oil speculators? Hmm… Funny, no new oil was pumped but, yet, our gas prices dropped. Honestly, if a politico wanted to really do something, they’d release some of the national reserves into our supply.
“DEZINFORMATSIA”… Oh no… The “liberal media.” I had a reply to put here, but I think I’m going to not take a side due to the fact that I work in TV news.
“THE DEMO-GOGUES”… Oye Vey. Look at the number of out of context Obama quotes you can put in one spot. Actually, there’s probably more in that aren’t in here. A few things to address… Obama is in no way confused about his faith. In fact, he’s talked about it openly. Has McCain? No really, don’t make an assumption, has McCain ever come out and said what he believes in (and the generic “in God” and the like won’t suffice.) On Iraq… Obama ABSOLUTELY NEVER SAID THAT HE DIDN’T BELIEVE THAT WE COULDN’T WIN IN IRAQ. All he said was exactly what is in the quote… “I think that the surge has succeeded in ways that nobody anticipated, by the way, including President Bush and the other supporters.” Hmm… Funny how “including President Bush” was removed from the quote in the article. Oops… Must have been a typo, right? As for the “lipstick on a pig” comment being in here… Funny how it’s not mentioned that McCain used the EXACT SAME LINE to describe Hillary. And it’s also funny that no mention was made that the comment was not against Palin, but against the idea that McCain is a change in Washington politics.
“VILLAGE IDIOTS”… What a breath of fresh air, in an article otherwise full of hot-air.
1. Just because Palin is a woman, does not mean that every woman in America should vote for her. Ms. Steinem is correct… The ONLY thing that Hillary Clinton and Sarah Palin have in common is that they’re women. Go read what they stand for… One cannot just try and substitute one female politician for another, especially if they don’t stand for the same things. It’s like trying to use a Yaesu FT-60 charger on a Motorola P-1225. Sure they’re both HT’s, but they’re not compatible.
2. Yes Oprah supports Obama. Yes, he’s been on her show. And yes, it was WELL before he was a candidate. But what has been left out is that she said she’d be more than happy to have Palin on, after the election. She’s refusing to use her show as a political outlet, and you know what, she has every right to do that.
“SHORT CUTS” isn’t even worth my time because all it contains is the stuff the late night talkers have said.
Now… For my final thoughts… The reality of the situation is that this article is nothing more than a partisan attempt at distorting the truth. Through the creative use of editing of quotes, it’s possible to spin any topic in any way you want, but the fact of the matter is, we should put all this aside and talk about the issues at hand. How about the credit crunch, our failing economy, the fact that kids my age are out getting killed over a grudge that Bush Sr. had, the fact that we’re destroying our planet and not doing anything about it. But hey, those aren’t important right?
